Thanks

Fred, along th right lines, but there's a little more to it...

They're actually the stations from the first couple of verses of Flanders and Swann's song "The Slow Train", written as a lament for the stations Dr Beeching was closing. That said, there are couple tricky things- Flanders and Swann took liberties with a couple of the names to suit their verses, and I've corrected those here. Also, the song was written from a list of stations being considered for closure and a few in there didn't close in the final outcome, a few more have since reopened. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slow_Train

This is Flanders and Swann's only 'non-comedy' song, but the words have a certain charm:

Millers Dale for Tideswell
Kirby Muxloe
Mow Cop and Scholar Green

No more will I go to Blandford Forum and Mortiehow,
On the slow train from Midsummer Norton and Mumby Row,
No churns, no porter,
No cat on a seat,
At Chorlton-cum-Hardy and Chester-le-Street
We won't be meeting again on the slow train.

I'll travel no more from Littleton Badsey to Openshaw,
At Long Stanton I'll stand well clear of the doors no more,
No whitewashed pebbles,
No up and no down,
From Thornby Four Crosses to Dunstable Town,
I won't be going again on the slow train.

On the main line and the goods siding,
The grass grows high,
At Dog Dyke, Tumby Woodside, and Troublehouse Halt.
The sleepers sleep at Audlem and Ambergate,
No passenger waits on Chittening platform of Cheslyn Hay,
No-one departs, no-one arrives,
From Selby to Goole,
From St. Erth to St. Ives,
They all passed out of our lives,
On the slow train,
On the slow train.
Cockermouth for Buttermere
On the slow train.
Armly Moor Arram
Pye Hill and Somercotes
On the slow train.
Windmill End.....

Fred, it turns out you are quite right about Canadatype's Verso. Penrose is a thought I haven't strictly speaking struct to te Penrose triangle method in developing all te letterforms-look at the Z when I preview it for the clearest departure..... Frustro is an interesting illustration of the same sort of concept, tough I suspect the designer has stuck rather more precisley to the theoretical methodology...

Hi Paul
I seem to remember a font named Verso from Canada Type. Maybe "Penrose" might be an alternative?

Have you seen "Frustro" typeface?

Regards
