We’ve set up this gallery page to showcase Greater Albion’s typefaces in action. Just click on any image to see it at a larger resolution.
Families in Harmony
We thought we’d use our latest gallery page to explore the idea of different typeface families acting together in harmony within the same poster designs, so here’s a dozen posters which use two (or more) of our typeface families to get their point across. As usual, click on the thumbnail image to view a larger one. We’ve included details of the typeface families used below each poster.
The Summer Tea Dance
Any similarities to a well-known marzipanned cake are purely coincidental (of course!) as Bertoni and Svengali Roman evoke the elegance of a bygone age.
Anyone for the Theatre?
This theatre notice evokes a more sumptuous past, using and Clementhorpe to summon people to a glorious 19th century standard.
Golden Age of Travel
The sunset of the steam era is evoked by Bonaventure, BonaVia and Bonnington. Isn’t this a trip we’d all secretly love to make?
Gone Cruising
Mellin and Haymer take us on an ocean voyage.
Can We Help You Madam?
This building directory is lent an air of dignity by Vectis and Anavio.
Childhood Memories
Howlett and Bronzino evoke a time of nanny and nursery teas in this children’s book cover design.
Yours
Here’s our favourite piece of poetry, which we often use for our specimen sheets. It was written by World War II spymaster Leo Marks and here is given an air of distinction by Clunic and Lowndes.
On the Road 1930s Style
Here we return to one of our favourite ‘hypothetical’ brand names…the Hirondelle car, no doubt familiar to readers of Leslie Charteris. This 1930s example is brought to life using Whitehaven, Federal Streamliner and Zenia.
Anyone for O Gauge?
Happy memories as Stannard and Adantine take us to the joyful eara of the tinplate trainset.
The Waverley Route
Why not explore the coast of Scotland, in company with Wellingborough and Vertrina?
You Have Been Warned!
Tumbletype and Veneribe lend their rustic charm as we’re reminded “No Livestock!”
Anyone to Take the Waters?
Another Journey on the Somerset and Dorset Railway, in the company of Bronzino and Haymer.
Cotswold Charm
The charm of the Cotswolds is enhanced with the charm of Crewekerne, Arkwright, and Crewekerne Magister.
Chocolate
Finally, we couldn’t finish this collection without revisiting our favourite “Chocolate Ambrosine”. Absinette and Bromwich show off their new Trafalgar Selection!
