We’ve been spending these Christmas days working on some of our next releases, so here’s a little progress demonstration. This specimen page illustrates a selection of ligatures and discretionary ligatures which we’ve developed for Imperial Granum Regular. We do feel that ligatures offer a touch of elegance in typesetting, as well as making type look less obviously computer set where they are used on a disretionary basis.
Another wonderful discover on the Graphics Fairy’s Blog, and another illustration of the joys of typography with a generous mixture of different faces. Toys for Christmas anyone?
We thought people might enjoy these re-creations of vintage postcard designs, which all employ our typeface ‘Albion’s White Christmas’. Albion’s White Christmas is currently offered at a 40% discount on Myfonts.
Here are some seasonal variations on a well known design theme – or is that the well know design theme – using two of our Blackletter typefaces, Beckinslade and Lowndes. We’re offering all of our Blackletter faces, including the newky released Tudor Perpendicular, on Myfonts at a 40% discount for the festive season.

Bolton Commercial revives and updates one of Greater Albion’s designer’s earliest typeface families, Bolton, which was recently used on the credits of a popular UK television series. The family consists of five faces- Regular and Obliqued, Blocked, Embossed and Engraved. All have a late Victorian/Edwardian feel and are ideal for posters, signage, Book covers…and of course television credits! Bolton Commercial combines the virtues of flair, fun and legibility.
Tudor Perpendicular is Greater Albion’s seasonal Black letter release (not that we rule out the possibility of non-seasonal ones…) for 2012. As the name suggests, it is a design which emphasises, and yes, exaggerates for effect, the perpendicular up and down nature of Black Letter typefaces. There’s no particular historical basis for this one – straight out of our own minds, just as a lot of Black letter ‘revivals’ have been over the years. Come and visit ‘Ye Olde‘ world today…
We’re offering our Christmas ornament collections at a 40% discount on Myfonts.com.
Here’s a little more progress on our Christmas Blackletter. This specimen now includes the capital letterforms, but of course, there’s no greater typographic crime than to set Blackletter text all in capitals, so here’s a selection of carefully chosen ord to display the full capital alphabet-with appropriate company!
