Sketches Worth Keeping…

Our designer was rummaging through some old sketches the other day and found this interesting little item.  We think this idea-a sort of subtly bifurcated Sans Serif -has a great deal of possibility and will be encouraging its further development when some of our present projects are a little nearer completion.

We still feel that this is the best way to start off a new typeface design-with pen (usually a fountain pen in our designer’s case) and paper.  Computer technology has it’s place further down the track, with careful construction by node, line and curve, but for freedom of expression and exploring ideas without restriction you can’t go past the partnership of wet inky nib and paper…
