We’ve Changed the Name…

We rather liked the name Thoroughbrooke, but decided there could be an element of confusion about it.  It was suggested to us that as a name it’s rather reminiscent of one of those complicated English names that aren’t pronounced as they’re spelt.  We think, for instance, of Cholmondley (pronounced ‘Chumley’) or Featherstonehaugh (pronounced ‘Fanshaw’).  The question arose as to whether Thoroughbrooke was in fact pronounced as ‘Thoroughbrooke‘ or simply as ‘Thurbrooke‘.  Accordingly, we decided to avoid all causes of confusion and change the name, so ‘Thurbrooke’ it is…

Meanwhile, the typefaces themselves have proceeded apace and here’s a brief sampling of the first three members of the family:

Thurbrooke_Gallery1We still have some further members of this family in mind. More news of that soon, and we will try for a few mor samplers later in the week.
