Something Old is (going to be) New Again

Some readers may be aware of my earlier freeware type designs, which predate the time of Greater Albion Typefounders.  from time to time Greater Albion has revived one of these designs, usually with all the glyphs re-drawn to a higher standard of precision and with much more extensive character sets.  Recently I received a request to undertake just such a revival of ‘Landsdowne’ a display serif typeface with uniform stroke width and small rounded serifs, characterised by the mixture of a relatively low ‘x’ height and relatively tall ascenders.

As described above, this revival will need quite a lot of work – we’re re-drawing all the characters (progress to date shown below) and we’re adding a great deal to the character set.  We also have thoughts regarding alternate forms, ligatures and so forth.
