  1. Personally I like best the italic members of this family, which moderate nicely the slight backwards-leaning effect of some of the lettering. An interesting experiment.

    • Ian, I tend to have a preference for the italics myself, though they were an idea that arose in the course of development of the ‘regular’ forms. Flincher was altogether a demonstration of how an idea can grow. At the start of the project I had the development of a single typeface (only) in mind, and the family grew from there. As you say, I see a particular ‘balance’ between the slight reverse slope in the design and the more general angle of the italics.
