Just Released

Our four latest typeface families have now released on Fontspring and on Myfonts.  Here are a few more sample images displaying Landsdowne Commerical,Wellmere Sans, Friendly Shaded Sans and Trivette.  We know these four projects have taken a while to come to fruition, but we think they are worth the wait.

‘Landsdowne Commercial’ is a development of one of our designer’s earlier public domain releases, ‘Landsdowne’.  All glyphs have been completely redrawn and refined.  An extensive range of stylistic alternates and ligatures have been added, as well as a completely new bold face and several forms of numerals.  Landsdowne commercial is ideal for period-inspired design work, such as posters and book covers as well for clear elegant communications.

Wellmere Sans is humanist a ‘sans serif’ typeface combining distinctive character with easy legibility. The emphasis here is on elegant simplicity and clarity. No alternate forms, no ligatures, just good simple design and elegance giving clarity and ease of communication.  Ideal for timeless presentation of information, signs, posters, computer displays and so forth.

‘Friendly Shaded Sans’ is just what the name says. It’s a chubby and cheerful Sans Serif typeface that is ideal for poster work, headings and informal design generally.

Trivette is an ‘All Capitals’ calligraphic display face, where all upright strokes are rendered as curves and where everything approaching the vertical are rendered in threes.  That’s probably as clear as mud, but the results combine charm and legibility with a decorative period air.  Recommended for poster work where a sense of dignified fun is important.

Alfrere Sans Released

Alfrere Sans has now released on Myfonts and Fontspring.

Alfrere Sans is a clean Sans Serif display family inspired by a well-known 1950s television caption.  The family of seven faces have been designed for independent use, but they also have an extra feature.  All faces have identical metrics and can be overlaid with each other, to yield an unending range of multi-coloured lettering effects.  Bring a touch of the 5o’s to your next poster design.  Better yet, explore the world of multi-coloured overlaid typefaces….

Alfrere Sans Dispatched to Resellers (by bus, train or plane?)

We’ve just dispatched the family to our resellers, so here are a few preview images:

The Whole Family

We’ve added the final two family members to the Alfrere Sans family, so here’s the whole thing.  A particular feature of the family is the ability to overlay the different typefaces over each other to achieve multi-coloured effects:

Portello and Paget Released

Portello and Paget have now been released through Fontspring and Myfonts.

Portello is a display family in the tradition of Tuscan advertising and display faces.  It’s a family of three ‘all capital’ faces.  A perpendicular regular form is offered, along with an italic form (a true italic – with purpose designed glyphs-NOT merely an oblique) and a basic form for small text – which dispenses with the family’s characteristic outlined look.  It offers the spirit of the Victorian era with ready and distinctive legibility.  It’s ideal for poster work, especially at large sizes, and for signage with a period flair.  Why not give your work the flair of colourful 19th century commercial design today?

Paget is a modern exploration of Tuscan design.  Here you’ll find simple geometric outlines with an ‘Arts and Craft’ charm about them.  Paget is beautifully clear and easy to read, but offers a distinctive charm that conventional sans serif and serif faces don’t.  Paget is offered in regular and oblique forms and is an ideal way to merge tradition and all that is new and fresh in your designs.

All the ‘P’s – Paget and Portello Near Release

We’ve just dispatched Paget and Portello to our resellers, so they should be released soon.  In the meantime we thought a look at a couple of our ‘test pieces where we put the new typefaces to work might be of interest.

Firstly, Paget takes us back to the heady days of the 30s, and steam powered streamline era travel, as we’re invited to take a trip on the ‘Coronation Scot’.

Secondly, Portello takes back to the days when the circus was fun!  No wild animals were harmed in making this poster…
