Posted at 2:38 pm by gatf, on September 11, 2025

It’s been a busy time lately, so progress has been slow, but here’s a completed artwork.

“Patriot at Rest”. London, Midland & Scottish Railway No. 5925 “E.C.Trench” depicted in more or less original condition as it prepares for its next turn of duty.

      • Southern Belle

Posted at 1:22 pm by gatf, on July 9, 2023

Have been painting this one for a few weeks now, and used a drab drizzly Sunday to finish it off.

“Southern Belle” – elegant travel in Edwardian Pullman style, hauled by the London, Brighton & South Coast Railway 4-6-2 tank locomotive “Bessborough”. How rail travel should be… so much better than today’s electric marvels .

Image may contain: outdoor, painting and drawing

St Chad’s church, Pattingham, near Wolverhampton. Painted in digital pencil and watercolour while staying indoors on a very wild and woolly afternoon. I used to stay in Pattingham sometimes, with my Aunt and Uncle, on trips back to the UK.
