      • The Trustworthy Guardian

Posted at 10:22 am by gatf, on December 8, 2019

I’ve been experimenting with anthropomorphic animal characters lately.  This is the latest, “The Trustworthy Guardian”, an Olde English Sheepdog as a Yeoman Warder of the Tower. Doing that uniform was great fun!

      • Sketching from. Imagination

Posted at 12:29 am by gatf, on December 8, 2019

English town scene, from imagination. This started out as a quick test of some new “brushes” for the Procreate drawing App. Somehow the idea grew and ended up less than quick!

      • An Exercise in Character Invention

Meet Uncle Bert, a garden gnome of some year’s experience…

He was created in Autodesk Sketch on an iPad Pro, using an Apple Pencil.

      • The Emmet and Heath Robinson Railway Company.

A rather flamboyant sketch, entirely from imagination, but inspired by the art of Messrs Roland Emmett and William Heath Robinson. The odd thing is that nonsense like this from imagination takes a really long time to do – over two weeks of drawing time went in to this.
